What and whom are we accountable for? The answer is simple, ourselves. We often think that we are accountable for others, but we are not, in fact, the only true way to live your best life is to be accountable for your actions and reactions in situations. If you did this one simple thing you could become a much more open and honest person to yourself and to others. Being accountable allows you to free yourself from holding grudges towards others. It can also enable us to become more honest and to better ourselves.
If you do not like someone or a situation you need to be accountable to remove yourself from that situation. Learning how to do this is a very useful life skill.
It may be hard to realize that this word “accountability” feeds our perceptions in our lives and others. Do you ever wonder why some people are not accountable for their actions and nothing is ever their fault? Take a look around and you will see that people everywhere have that mentality, you may even be one of those people. If you really focus on what others are saying around you, you might be able to pick up on it.
You will often hear people complaining that they do not have enough money to pay their own bills, and yet they are completely unaware that they have to be accountable and make a change. This goes for other things in life as well. You need to be willing to take accountability for your actions and stop blaming others for the lack of things in your life.
If you are lacking ambition for example, what you need in order to change is within you. We are all accountable for our own lives. You need to change your mindset and do something about it. You should take accountability for your situation. It is only when you do this that you are capable of being strong enough to live this life to your full potential.
