If you start to hear thoughts that can be construed as destructive, you should not give those thoughts the time of day. You should only be focused on thinking positively and coming up with ways to productively improve yourself. As humans, it can be neutral for us to not accept our shortcomings, but a part of thinking positively is the acknowledgement that we cannot be perfect in everything we engage in. Perhaps the biggest problem that people have in terms of having the right mindset is trying to alter things that is beyond our power. We can only control so much, and wasting time and energy on things you cannot control the outcome of will only serve in delaying your development.

In regards to cosmetic issues such as acne, your smile or even your weight, there are procedures that can be done to artificially correct them. You can do those things if you must and if you have the capacity to do so. But if you are looking to correct every little thing with these procedures, it will become an unhealthy obsession. Understand when enough is enough and remember that there is only so much that you can do.

Having a positive self-image will have many benefits for you, from increased emotional stability to better relationships and more accomplishments. Once you learn to start thinking positively and liking what you see in the mirror every day, you will notice that you will become much more productive and more confident.
